I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.<br /><br />I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.<br /><br />I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.<br /><br />I think the freezer deserves a light as well.<br /><br />I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.<br /><br />I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.<br /><br />How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?<br /><br />I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. We've all attempted to do our part and help correct the issues, unfortunately the culture has morphed from a place of accountability to a place of blame...</div><div><br /></div><div>In the past several years I've seen some of the brightest and most loyal people I've ever met either leave by choice or forced out...This of course is Corporate America and this happens all the time, but what was probably the most disturbing was not that the decsion was made, whether right or wrong, but simply how it was handled.</div><div><br /></div><div>At the end of the day this was probably what hurt the most. The company always talked about being an,"Employer of Choice". I then got dress and went outside to hung up the American Flag. I come back in and my wife says..." Whats wrong with your eye"<br /><br />I tell her its a little itching and hey let me get the eye drops and it will be fine...<br /><br />Several hours later I'm sitting in the ER at John C Lincoln and waiting to see the doctor. I'm really trying to be focused and trying to be productive at work, but I continue to run into a lot of road blocks. Besides the general physical issues of trying to focus on work while my knee hurts...<br /><br />Understand that these are frustrations that have been building for months and maybe even years, these are not random or just the normal minimal bullshit that we all deal with on the day to day basis that all our jobs have. I think the month that I had off just gave me time to reflect and realize the issues that I have aren't just the normal daily crap we all deal with but major structural issues that effect the major structural pillars of my work environment...<br /><br />I'm increasing becoming more frustrated with the lack of good business decisions made by my direct bosses...From one of them being completely checked out, to the other one being a completely self consumed, immature, and simply an idiot. I'm tired of seeing them keep chasing the same issues and complaining about the same results and doing nothing to change the way they attack the issues, yet somehow they are expecting different results. Sounds like the definition of insanity, even if I do say so myself...<br /><br />Then there becomes the poor decisions made by their bosses...I happen to know both of them outside of work they are both great guys, however inside work you couldn't have two different men. One is a great guy and does everything he can to help resolve the issues he can; unfortunately he's the only one at that level that can seem to get anything done and he's so overrun he can't focus on the issues he needs to. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!<br /><br />There was no email! We had to actually write somebody a letter .. with a Pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!<br /><br />There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!<br /><br />And talk of about hardship? You couldn't just download porn! You had to steal it from your brother or bribe some homeless dude to buy you a copy of "Hustler" at the 7-11! Those were your options!<br /><br />We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!<br /><br />We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics sucked ass! Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! ... Just like LIFE!<br /><br />When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!<br /><br />Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and<br />walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little bastards!<br /><br />And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire . imagine that! The doctor comes out and talks to my wife and says "Well we found significant more damage than we where expecting, the MRI didn't show any indications of issues we've found, no wonder your husband was having so many issues with his knee."<br /><br />So lets just recap...<br /><br />5 Doctors, 2 months of PT, 2 x-rays, and 1 sonogram...<br /><br />So now I'm waiting to meet with the doctor for my last and best hope. I've been told by my doctor that if all I want to do is walk around the rest of my life, I don't need another surgery. Dinero...<br /><br />I've always based my career goals based on money and now that's not the goal...That's not what I want....so what do I do?<br /><br />Don't get me wrong...Money's important...Just not nearly as important as the rest of my life...<br /><br />So here I go...Another search...<br /><br />What do I want to do to make me happy!<br /><br />I'm searching for a job that will allow me to keep my balance...<br /><br />Because at the end of the day...<br /><br />This journey we take isn't about how fast we get there or how much we acheived while we are here....but merely about the adventure between the points!<br /><br />Yeah I know...Its funny... It s bicycle ride for local charities up in Flagstaff! Basically 300 people show up and ride around Flagstaff for an hour or so and then we come back and consume beer for the next 5 hours! Last year we went through 90 kegs of beer, so this year they brought 122 kegs, the said their not sure what to do next year if go through 122 kegs!<br /><br />It was a beautiful ride...A lot calmer than last year's ride. No major crashes to report!<br /><br />Then today I checked on the status of my house...unfortunately they've moved back the move in date at least 15 to 30 days... Our bullpen has looked shaky and we really haven't had any timely hitting. Hopefully with a midseason break everyone will comeback to form and things will start clicking and with a little luck we'll make it into the playoffs. But your not hearing any complaints here...This years team is definately a lot more competitive than last years.<br /><br /><strong>Cleveland Indians-</strong><br />There about where everyone expected and with a lot luck we might just be able to make the playoffs. As you look at the schedules for the end of the year, the Indians certainly have an advantage over a lot of teams. There's definately still a chance for the Indians to make it to the playoffs this year, for the first time in many years! ( Plus...The Damn Giants fan's might as well pay up on your bets right now...with a 9 game lead there's not much of chance of your Team is going to have a better record than the Indians!)<br /> <br /><strong>NY Yankees-</strong><br />Well they are better than they were at the beginning of the season, however they haven't quite added up to being worth the 200 million dollar payroll. It will be interesting to see if they can even make the playoffs. There's around baseball that only one team will make it out of the AL East this year for the playoffs and right now it doesn't seem to be the Yankees. ( YEAH! - Was that out loud?) The schedule isn't really friendly for the Yankees in the 2nd half of the season. The last month of the season the Yankees play the Boston and Baltimore 14 times. So basically you have to figure the Yankees have to get really hot really fast and build a big lead between now and then and I just don't think they can do it. Even if I'm a Yankee hatter...I'm at least fair. (From doing self analysis, best I can tell you, is I made the biggest mistake in my past relationships by settling and not demanding that the people in my past relationships be 100% honest with me. It starts with little things and just kind of continues from there into a negative environment.) So this time I made sure that I laid down the ground rules...No matter how hard it is. I am an adult. I can handle the truth. No matter how hard it is I can deal with the truth as long as your honest.<br /><br />So with that being said...<br /><br />This just hit me and her from out of the blue...Wasn't expected...Wasn't planned...<br /><br />Somewhere down that road it just hits us and it happened...<br /><br />So what can I say...I've know here for more than 3 years and we've had a good friendship that has developed into something more...Maybe that's why this time its been so easy, so simple, and so honest....(It doesn't hurt that she's a New Yorker and doesn't pull punches...)<br /><br />Its funny, we both have been looking for red flags and can't find any!!! Its really scary, we just seem to click. What's even better is that all the kids get along and we have no kids issues...I can remember in my last relationship the kid issues where the hardest. It was incredible... I haven't been able to do that for 2 years maybe even 3 years...Usually I'm able to make most of the hills then walk the last part of the distance, but not today...I rode every inch of every hill on the bike. Granite...I was hitting the pitching wedge exceptional well...Straight down the middle and about 150 yards...Its truly insane...On the other hand the guy I was playing with looked like my brother, he acted like my brother, but he certainly didn't hit the golf clubs like my brother... groups...<br /><br />The lookers...The followers...and The outspoken one....<br /><br />The lookers spend most of the time looking around the room and looking at each other and singing about every 3rd word.<br /><br />The followers are watching the teacher and always seem to be about 2 steps behind.<br /><br />The outspoken one...There's always one in the group, you know the one...The one that sings louder than everyone else...The one that wants to grab the microphone and sing...The one that is generally pandering for the crowds attention.<br /><br />Now the kids are always fun to watch but
