My Right Knee

So I've had issues with my knee over the past two years and have seen proably 5 different doctors trying to find out what the issues are...

They've all had theories...

So finally I see one of the best doctor's in Arizona for orthopedics and he decides even though I can't walk physical therapy for two months would be the best thing for me.

So my question to the doctor, "What happens when I come back two months from now and I still am having issues with my knee?" and his answer was, "Well then well cross the bridge when we get to it."

So after two months of physical therapy that was just bandaid for the issue, the doctor finally agrees to do a knee arthroscopy.

So they go into my knee and what's supposed to be a 45 minute procedure turns out to be a 90 minute procedure. The doctor comes out and talks to my wife and says "Well we found significant more damage than we where expecting, the MRI didn't show any indications of issues we've found, no wonder your husband was having so many issues with his knee."

So lets just recap...

5 Doctors, 2 months of PT, 2 x-rays, and 1 sonogram...

So now I'm waiting to meet with the doctor for my last and best hope. I've been told by my doctor that if all I want to do is walk around the rest of my life, I don't need another surgery. Of course anyone that knows me, that's not going to work.

So now I'm preparing for my next surgery...

Its called a Osteochondral Allograft, basically what they are going to do is take off my knee cap, and implant a cartlidge from a cadaver and then put my knee cap back on, sounds fun doesn't it?

Well yes and no...from what I've read its has a 85% success rate which is great news, the bad news is I'll be out of action for at least 6 months and proably the most challenging part of the whole process is after the next surgery I won't be able to put any pressure on my right knee for 6 to 8 weeks which is present a lot of issues for me.

So wish me luck and I'll post more about as things develop...
